The Gables
The Gables is a 14 bed registered care home for people with mental health problems.
The home offers 24-hour staffing to help residents deal with their mental health problems and live comfortable and fulfilling lives.
The building is a converted and extended former Victorian vicarage located in Smethwick. It is a ten minute walk or a short bus ride to the local shops and other facilities.
The Gables is a relaxed and friendly place to live - residents have as much say as possible about day to day matters such as menus, social activities and so on. Each resident has his or her own furnished bedroom and a key to the front door, to come and go as they wish.
Staff at The Gables ensure that the residents' medical and social care needs are monitored and attended to on an ongoing basis. They have good links with the local community mental health teams and other relevant agencies, and ensure that residents receive prompt professional input as and when required.
Shared facilities for residents include 3 lounge areas, a dining room, a skills kitchen and a pleasant garden area. The home has provision for individuals whose primary need is for mental health care but who also have physical disabilities. Adaptations include 4 ground floor bedrooms (2 of which are en-suite), a lift, a staff-call system, and wheelchair accessible wc's and bathrooms.
Like all care homes, The Gables is periodically inspected by CSCI. You can download a copy of the most current inspection report by following the link below.
