Training in Mind

‘Training in Mind’ - Sandwell Mind’s training department – is responsible for ensuring that our workforce is fully equipped with the skills and knowledge base required to deliver quality services to users.

Some courses are accredited by the Open College Network and we are applying for accreditation through NCFE (National College of Further Education)

We deliver a full in house training programme for all staff employed by the organisation. This includes a 12 week induction. Training sessions are attended by volunteers and service users where appropriate.

Training in Mind also delivers training sessions to a variety of other organisations and providers, both inside and outside the borough. We can offer sessions based on your own specific needs and these can be delivered either at our own training venue or at your premises.
Our training covers a wide variety of mental health issues and related issues for both staff and service users. We also cover areas specifically for people working with children and young people either in schools, family centres, youth organisations etc., some of our courses are specifically for children and young people and we can arrange sessions in schools with staff or directly with pupils.

As well as training we are able to attend exhibitions, conferences etc in order to raise awareness and dispel myths in order to reduce the stigma of mental health.
Contact our Training and Development Manager Sandra Vaughan on 0121 5433934 (direct line) for further details, costs, and general enquiries about any training matter or e-mail
